A Midsummer’s Day and Play

“Though she be but little she is fierce.” -A Midsummer’s Night Dream, William Shakespeare. Quite a fitting line for two girls traveling through Europe, don’t you think?

Appropriately so, we made a stop in Stratford Upon Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare, to spend the afternoon dining on a restaurant patio, perusing the historic figure’s hometown and soaking up the sunshine next to the River Avon. Wonderfully lined up to be on the Midsummer day, we saw an outstanding performance of A Midsummer’s Night Dream, put on by the Royal Shakespeare Company. Other than Puck playing pranks on the stage, the theater has a beautiful view of the town and river outside. Travel tip to note: RSC offers student discount tickets for just £5, so be sure to take advantage of that!
